Do you think its possible to achieve full box splits at a later age (in your 30's) if you've never been able to do it?

I trained my legs when I was younger and managed to get box splits to about 10” off the floor but I'm really struggling now to get back to there.

My Girlfriend was involved in a serious RTA some years ago and this left her with permanent mobility problems.



Recently she has wanted to start losing weight and getting fit, unfortunately this is a problem because she cant do any kind of impact training. Due to Hip, knee and ankle injurys.



Here things she cant do in training

- Can't Run, or even jog on spot

- Can't walk long distances

- Can't squat

I currently train 6 times a week a mixture of cycling, muay thai, weights or just on the bags at my gym. However i never seem to be able to gain muscle mass and after 4 years still resemble a really fast twig. I also have a gluten intolerance so cant eat anything with wheat...



The main problem i find with eating is that i work 12 hour days and only get 20mins to quickly eat a lunch. Does anyone have any ideas on snacks or lunches which are really simple, gluten free and cheap?  ...</description>
