Post by Steve Heneghan on Sun Mar 15, 2009 9:54 am

Hi guys,
My son has just moved to work in Hook and is looking to start training in the area, style is optional it will be his first real go at serious training so all suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mate

Basingstoke is just down the road to Hook. Basingstoke is the main town with places like Hook being in the surronding areas. There is a really good Aikido club in Basingstoke, details can be found here - http://www.ellisaikido.org/

Lee Morrison is in Southampton only about 20minute drive or you can get trains direct from Hook / Basingstoke.

There is a variety of clubs at the Local sports centre in Basingstoke, the usual Karate, Kung Fu etc

Plenty of TKD clubs in the local area as well.

Check out www.martialartsregister.co.uk as well. Here you will find selection of clubs etc. Hope it helps mate.

While i remember there is also a good JKD/Kali class in Guilford run by Terry Valler which is just up the M3.
If driving is not an option then Basigstoke is his best bet i reckon. This is the next stop along from Hook on the Train.

Stuart
Some good stuff here mate, thanks a lot for this. I saw Lee Morrison at Wrexham last month and he was excellent, I might suggest him.
Thanks again
