Irresponsible journalism

Post by Abnett on Mon Jul 06, 2009 1:19 pm

Disturbing story this but i totally agree with the second comment made on the story!

"What does Martial arts have to do with this?
If he was a baseball player and killed her with a bat would you blame baseball?
I don't know any martial arts that use "Stun Guns" or "Petrol"
He killed the poor woman because he was a murderer, and 16 years is not enough."

I feel this is an irresponsible portrayal of martial arts by the media. What are your views people?

Yeah - totally agree with you mate - although it wasn't as though the entire article was focused on the martial arts background, nor did there appear to be any comment from the judge on that subject.

What is more concerning are the few comments posted by readers - to the effect of "If his wife hadn't been sleeping around it wouldn't have happened" - that is truly shocking!!!

angry

And what's to become of the poor children who have been left behind after all of this - that's the saddest part of all!

Journalists will sensationalize anything they possibly can and in this case the martial arts was the obvious thing..I too feel for the kids there are too many people in this world that just don't put value on the other peoples lives....The twat should be locked up forever

Unfortuneatly Journalists are all related to politicians and 90% of the public never realise this and take both as telling the truth, Sad !!
PS they should lock this sicko inside a punchbag and let every decent person have a swing at it.
