Re: CCMA's first public diary entry
Thanks Pete. I have kept an uniterupted diary on my training and teaching since 2003 and I thought it may interest some what a typical night at the CCMA club consists of.

Re: CCMA's first public diary entry
This time the juniors focused on the fence, pre-emptive striking and grappling as a support system whereas the seniors moved onto chokes and strangles. Discussions included a recent documentary on knife crime, further ways to test and drill chokes and strangles and a re-cap on the previous two weeks sceptical arguments in martial arts:

Re: CCMA's first public diary entry
I put Geoff Thompson's theory regarding kicking to the test and ask whether focus mitts can be kicked effectively in my latest diary entry:

Re: CCMA's first public diary entry
To quote: A new article in the Martial Arts Scepticism series will focus on this particular logical fallacy argument.
I love to see healthy scepticism at the best of times, but in the martial art industry it is much appreciated,
good work Jamie,
Den.

Hi Jamie
Good stuff mate
Need to work a little on that grimace though. If you want some lessons - happy to help. Had many years practice as Geoff's magazine eye gouge and face bar grimace-ee
How's the book coming along - was the interview of use to you?

Re: CCMA's first public diary entry
Hi Al,
Respect to the grimace! You are the master and I will follow
The interview was great, Al. The book is proving to be a monster, but I am still getting the research in and interviewing plenty of people. I am also consulting the best martial arts historian I know and am pleased (if a little disturbed) to note that my assumptions regarding martial arts history (or lack of) appear to be correct

Re: CCMA's first public diary entry
And, as promised, here it is. We looked at MMA for the kids and then we got down and dirty with it with the adults!
