British Soldiers

Post by Marc1978 on Thu Jul 23, 2009 3:04 pm

In recent weeks there doesn't seem a day goes by without reading or hearing that another british soldier has lost their life fighting a war that can't be won.I think spare a moment in thought for these on the frontline.

Without a doubt.

And in many cases the age of the soldiers being killed is so young. A thought for their family and friends is in order too.

Nice thought Marc.

I've posted a link in general chat to an article documenting letters (blueys) sent to the family of one such young soldier, including the letter to be sent upon his passing. Very emotional reading. I am thankful that I do not have to endure or see half the harsh realities of war that these brave people do.

i dont want to think of it as a war that cant be won...

more a situation that would be a lot worse for the innocent if our guys were not there, our guys are in places to stop the cowardly strong from hurting the weaker innocents.

they are all heros in my eyes, god bless every one of them,

I was in the Paras with Alec MacLachlan, one of the captured/ feared dead bodyguards in Iraq, my prayers are with him and the remaining hostages and their familys.
