For my Dad and Mum

Post by Tigger on Sun Jul 27, 2008 8:51 pm

Ok, this is a difficult one for me, b/c I do tend to keep this info inside and only a few close people know, however as part of my “opening up” therapy (and this may explain my views on a few things :-)). I am writing to ask if people could add my Dad and Mum into their prayers this week.
My Father has been fighting Cancer for over 10years, as a family unit we have stood by and watched him fight brain cancer, have an eye removed and half on the inside of his mouth removed and then rebuilt (from parts of his body). So many chemo sessions I have forgotten!, and this year alone we have had two major ops in Feb and March to remove lung tumours. A month ago we found out the news you dread, that the cancer is back in the lungs and this week he starts more ops. I ask for your prayers b/c I sometimes think mine are too weak and I ask for My Mum who has been my fathers carer and stood by his side fighting alongside the man she loves.

Thank you

I`ll send my prayers out each night Tigger, don`t fret about not saying yours right, or them being weak, you know you want the best for your dad and would do anything for him so a sincere `come on god, help my dad please` is as good as several dozen `our fathers` or whatever.
I wish him all the strength and courage in the world for the times ahead, and don`t be too hard on yourself because you`ll also need to dig deep so get your rest and share your problems on here.

take care

Mol

Many thanks to you all. I showed this to my folks last night and my Mum was really touched and my dad cried, they are not only so pleased that I now train with some wonderful people but that I also have this forum where I can talk, discuss and find support, they think it is a brilliant idea.

I know how hard your situation is, as I have been through similar myself and you have my utmost respect for having the bravery to talk about it on a public forum and the strength to continue to fight where others would falter.
My thoughts and wishes are with you and yours at this difficult time.

Like to add my prayers and best wishes too. Don't know you or your folks but you sound like a hell of a family.
