    Hi esther

well I dont 'meditate' per se, but we do use a lot of pathworking etc in the mental side of our system

the easiest way is is to get some soothing background music, not AC/DC, fairly quiet, and simply imagine taking a walk along somewhere you enjoy, beach, fields, hills whatever

dont start with a specific 'goal' that may be too hard for you to maintain.. as your mind drifts (which it will) bring it back gently to where you should be.. just use the length of a couple of tracks as a starter

good luck, it can be a great unwinder

When most people meditate they are looking to take their mind to a calm, empty, peaceful nirvana where they can escape from the thoughts and concerns of everyday life.

What I do can possibly be classed as the opposite, but I've found it to be something very valuable. If you take just 20 minutes out of your day to lay down alone in a quiet room, with no distractions, it's amazing what you'll find out about yourself. Rather than escape from conscious thought, typically the most important things on your mind and in your life will come to the forefront of your consciousness.

Sometimes walking out of that room can trigger life changes. Stop pretending that you like your job, stop pretending that you love your partner, stop pretending you're not sick.

Meditating on life, as opposed to away from, can be an interesting way to go.

    I meditate daily for 20min.

It has helped my stress levels and also made me able to enjoy the present a lot more.
I can't imagine not meditating anymore, since our brains are constantly flood with useless thoughts.
As Bruce said. empty your mind. Be thoughtless. Shapeless. Be like water ;-) (nothing really to do with meditation, but I thought it sounded well)
