    Shane Kennedy: Introduction

Post by Shane Kennedy on Fri Jan 09, 2009 7:06 pm

    Hey all,

Feels good to have joined such a great site!

My Name is Shane. I'm 29 and from Coventry. I started Martial arts at the age of 6. I Began with Karate but had to stop after a while, and changed to Taekwondo at the age of 12. Bout 10 years ago I finished practicing Taekwondo and I began training in Wutan (San shou, traditional Wushu etc). I love to learning from all types of systems, (grappling, self defence) whatever works!

I began teaching regular classess in 2003 in Coventry. I teach at the University and Down the local sports centre.

Work wise, i have been involved in the fitness industry since i graduated from Uni in 2001 with Spoerts Science degree. I am fully qualified, registered Personal trainer. At the moment i work full time for a charity that's sponsored by the Lottery to get people with disabilities involved in physical activity.

When i'm not teaching martial arts i'm training- Can't get enough! Those that know me know that martial arts is my life! I also love spending time with my fabulous wife Lizeth, whom without her I would be half of where i am.

I'm looking forward to getting in touch with you guys. Love sharing ideas, theories and all that.

    Best wishes and kind regards

    Shane Kennedy

    Hey Shane

Glad to see you made it Bro, will be fantastic having your input on here mate.

Guys I have known shane for a good number of years now, probably about 8 or 9 years and he is one fantastic instructor, and a very good friend more like a brother if im honest. I have learned a hell of a lot from him over the years. If you live in coventry you could do a lot worse than seek shane out and see what he is all about.

Great to have you here bro,

give my love to liz and ill bell you soon mate.

    Hello Shane

    Welcome to the forum.
I think we trained at the same Taekwondo club about 15 years ago! My younger brother Steven & I trained there for about 5 years before joining Scorpion Taekwondo Club in Doncaster with Peter Adamsons. Glad to hear that you moved on!
