I'm Rob, 49, started karate (Shotokan 2nd Dan) 34 years ago but have drifted away from it over the last few years. I'm getting back into shape now doing loads of bodyweight training..hate going to gyms! I've been looking to find somewhere I can do some realistic self protection training but have had little luck. Most self defence courses are more likely to train you to get killed rather than save your butt.

I like what I've seen on the Urban Combatives site..it's exactly what I've been looking for...no BS!

I'll be coming here regularly, good stuff!!

Welcome Robbie , where do you live mate we may be able to point you to a good club in your area. Al Peasland and J are running a seminar in loughborough next sunday you are welcome to come along and join us if you wish. Get posting and tapping into the wealth of knowledge that resides here.

Thanks for the welcome Peter, I live in Wolverhampton so if anyone knows of anywhere local to me..be mighty grateful if they could let me know! Thanks also for the offer of attending your seminar...working weekends at the moment!

Well impressed with what I've encountered here...there's much I can learn just by reading the posts!
