résumé improvement ??? Empty résumé improvement ???

Post by Davey Tue Nov 24, 2009 12:38 am

    Hi

I'm interested in creating a better résumé

At the momemt I have Brown 1 in Ju Jitsu and brown level 1 in CSP Real Combat System
unfortunatelly my JuJitsu instructor now only does 1hr a week so it will be like a life time before I get a Dan grade.

can anyone suggest any course's in which you get qualifications.
Does anyone if Bob Spour is still doing he's master class?

Thinking about the GT master class atm.

    Cheers

    Hi Davey

What are the qualifications going to be used for?

Qualifications to me are a recognition of my time served. They're like collecting the medal ATFTER you've run the marathon. You can't get the medal before or during - and there's no short cuts you can take

It's difficult if you don't have access to the classes to get the amount of hours in each week in order to progress at the rate you want to but as I've said with CSP, I'm grading on people's levels and their progression and if one session a week with me shows evidence that you're clearly training outside of the weekly class then grades will be awarded accordingly.

There are loads of courses you can go on to get qualifications.
Geoff's Masterclass gives you the chance to attain an instructor grade under him and recognised by the BCA but it's not a martial arts qualification, certainly not in the sense of the Real Combat System that Matty, Tony and Myself are teaching and representing under Geoff's chief instructorship

You're level is already very very good - and we have gradings every 3 months or so

Luke Mannion may be the guy to speak to Re getting in touch with Bob
Sadly, I've not heard from Bob for almost 12 months - but his Muay Thai instruction is absolutely first class.

Not sure if Lee Morrison is also doing something with his Urban Combatives in the form of masterclasses, etc

It's a tricky one mate because I see your problem but I also know that we're all in this for the long game - no point in rushing it if you're having fun and continually learning.

    Hi

    Thanks for replying.

Looking a few years into the future, I'm hoping to gain the necessary skill to maybe mix up my jujitsu/csp and run my own little club, I think maybe the first thing would be to join a boxing club and try and go for aba coaching certificate.

So much I wanna do, I love the panantukan,BJJ and like the look of Sambo. first things first I've got to find a way to get me black belt in my jutsu, who knows I might be able to transfer my belts over to a more local and regular club.

    Hi Dave,

John Skillen has his Pentagon system masterclass and Peter Consterdine is doing his Combat Coach program. I am not sure if Bob is still doing his USP course, I know he was doing one in Aberdeen. I think you best can contact him directly.

    Kind Regards,
