It's true it's tricky to get to - but looks like it's going to be a busy one.

Can't wait to see this JKD guy on the Sat morning - wonder what he's going to be teaching - any ideas Mick?

    Yo,

Not been regularly on any forums for a while now, but went to the BJJ comp at SENI Saturday and bumped into Mick and AL.

It was good to finally meet Al and of course also Lou, after swapping emails and forum posts with Al as well as watching him in all of Geoff's videos.......yep, before the dvds came out!....waaaaaay back in the day!!!! LOL
Must be strange for Al that so many people feel they know him before they even meet him, but much like when I used to go to Geoff's book signings, Al greeted me in a similar manner as if we had known eachother for ages.

Had a good discussion with Al about RBSD and martial arts/ the martial way and I think we were on very much the same wave length. Probably occupied him more than I should off as he also had products to sell, but found what he had to say very interesting.....even if he has decided to live in a town with 30 roundabouts in one road!! LOL

As for Mick, always greated by him as a good friend and he even spotted me from over 20' away! It will be cool to sit down for a long chat with him over a cuppa sometime and chat in general....martial arts, pub landlord, etc, LOL.......but Seni isn't the place to do that...the man knows EVERYONE and is always chatting to someone different!!!!! lol

As I said to Al, "It isn't a case of how do you know Mick? It is more a cse of how do you NOT know Mick??!!?!?"

Have to say, I probably should of dragged my butt out of bed earlier and gone to the seminars, but a late night prior kinda stopped that from happening! LOL.

This was first time I had been to the London shows and although it seemed smaller or possibly better laid out I think the Birmingham shows were still good fun back in the day.

There is still room for improvement at Seni. I mentioned one to Al being when ther eis a lot of talking in seminars e.g.dialogue and pr-emptive material it can be hard to hear over the nose of the rest of the show going on.Or so I had found in previous years. I hope it all went well and look forward to reading a review of someone that took part in the seminars.

Oh I did get to see Royce Gracie and it would of been cool to grab a photo, but the people waiting was massive! lol

I now understand that Seni is every 2 years, so possibly by 2012 I will have managed to train wit AL and Mick and will take part in their future Seni seminars.

Hope it all went well for you guys on the Sunday.

    Adam.

    Hi Adam

Thanks for your post - was great to meet up finally.
Enjoyed our chat - and no worries about taking up lots of my time - it was a pleasure.

The workshops went really well. Sunday was very busy - hopefully everyone enjoyed it.
To everyone who did support us and attend the workshops - a massive thank you. It's always flattering when people come along to train - especially when you have legends such as Royce Gracie teaching at the same time on the mat next door.

I am hoping to receive a CD with a whole host of photos taken on the day - so will be publishing those on my Complete Self Protection facebook group as soon as I have them.

This weeks newsletter is going to be another bumper edition - Lou's News will, I'm sure, have a mention of the chat she had with you Adam. I think it was a welcome break for her after standing all day on the stall selling DVD's Smile

Thanks again mate - speak soon Wink

would have loved to have gone, but a bit more central would have helped, maybe birmingham.

    Hi Adam,
Great to see you as always mate...must say though,I'm no where near as well known as people think...Al's the point man in our relationship......I like the relative anonymity...I'm friends with those people in a very small minority in the MA world..ie normal folk...great show and workshops were well received I'm told. It's cool at seni to meet up with guys like Steve and just try and make sense of the crazy world that is self defence/protection...Defo meet up for a natter and some heavy conversation Adam..take care

    Hi

Seni was a great day wish I had more time to look around lots and lots going on, went there to take part in the BJJ Comp, got there at 9:30 and had to wait to be called up, didn't get to fight till 3:30 ish long wait with adrenalin spikes throughout the day

Been doing BJJ for about 3 months and thought lets enter the Seni lol
an expected loss but really really glad I did it.

amazing how the locks and techniques from my traditional jutsu dont work unless you bladder them first Smile

Proud of you Dave - great effort.

Dealing with the weeks of build up before the event, travelling all the way down to London, and getting on the mat after a long wait - that's what it's all about mate.
Well done to you and to Mr Gilbert.

Anyone who steps onto the mat is already a winner.

You defended and held out on the bottom really well for a long time, you should be proud of that performance.

    Well done Dave
