    Morning all,

General discussion topic for you all:

I picked up on the radio this morning that Britain is now a nation of Passive Bystanders. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7592196.stm)

I would be interested in your thoughts on this, why is it? Are we scared of yobs or is it more likely that we do not want to get cautioned by the police ourselves? Is it right, should we leave law and order to the police?

Perhaps if we treated these yobs as criminals and not misunderstood "victims" themselves, then we would have clearly defined lines in society and could act accordingly! I personally have never worried about the "whys and wherefores" or the legality of my actions.... I was too busy trying to keep my head in 1 piece and also partially sh!tting myself! One query though theres more of us than them so.....maybe we should try some "strength in unity" as a society? Also affording kids the same rights as adults when perhaps they are not ready to realise what responsibilities come with them... Mick x

As usual Mick's got it right. I think the media itself (mostly the internet really) has led to a decay in society that is reflected as an inability to interact with each other as human beings. The ease of access to material such as shootings, stabbings etc and the way the justice system seems to be as useful as a chocolate fireguard seems to disuade people from getting involved incase they get bit on the backside for getting involved.
If i came across someone being attacked i'd do what i could to help but certainly wouldn't risk my life.
    That's my 2p

This thread should really be titled-

The Demise of a Judicial System That Has Any Balls and Has Failed to Support Its Citizens!
