That is difficult because the older names that used to get thrown around have vanished and gone quiet and yet I dont believe the newer women have had the same exposure the older ones sort out.

Also, got to say Apart from Addy Hernandez, not seen or heard of the others.
Are they top JKD women or RBSD as Peter originally asked?

She's not exactly a trainer now, but I have to send the love out my sister Sharon Thompson. Even in full shopping attire, she can still bang the pads so hard your ancestors feel it!

    cheers

Have heard great things about Diana Rathbone and if Rachael Mclead has even only a small % of Neils then she must be good.

Angela Goodwins (think it may be Tippins now) is also good. She trains under Paul Finn but i believe ias also certified under Rick Faye and Also Guro Dan Inosanto. She is very dedicated and trains very hard.

If we want to look at pure self defence people in the UK, Debi Stevens is probably up there with some of the better ones that i have met, also Liz Clark but she does not teach as much as she used to.

Think it is difficult to really come up with a name for the world number one as Pete mentions but Ibu Rita Suwanda of Mande Muda Silat is probably up there with the best.

The unfortunate thing is that the female instructors just don't get the exposure like the men especially within the UK based martial arts mags. I think it is slightly better in the states as they get more exposure.

Another point that has just come to mind, most of the females who get the attention tend to be within the combat sports arena or demonstration / display type groups.

Again, without sounding to biased (although I am) my ex Louise Reeve is the ONLY women in the world currently regularing getting in the bulletman suit and doing the business.

Not only that she fights on the other side too. Everyone that sees her fight in the suit walks away with their mouth hanging open. The men and women she teaches are inspired (women) and challenged (men) by her teaching.

She brings something completely unique to the table.
