    More crap from me Smile

Which do ya think are better or do you use both depending on the application?

Going to get myself a Focus pad also a set of thai pads.

Feedback on brands and quality would be great!

    Cheers

I use a curved focus pad. i just feel that the shap helps to hold the strikes better espiecially if you holding for begginers. I also like the feel of them when i am striking them myself. There are absoloutly loads of mitts out there i think it is important to invest well in them, cheap ones just seem to fall apart and are a false ecnonomy. I think you should try a few sets on before you invest, same as all your personal kit really. The better the qaulity the less youll have to spend in the long rund. Remember they have to be enough to protect the weares hand as well as be a sturdy target for the person striking them. whatever you chose make sure that they are easy to clean as they can start to stink quite quickly.

I agree with peter that the curved ones are better to hold as they fit more naturally to your hand but i prefer to strike flat pads myself as i find it easier to focus on them. Bare in mind that you get what you pay for so usually going for a pricier pair is the better option. Cheap one's tend to have a habit of falling apart quite readily.

    Totally Agree

I was gifted a great pair of retro lonsdale focus mits which are very curved and fit great in the hand. Very firm/hard and give a great feedback to the puncher.

    But that's just my preference.

Depends what you're doing I guess. Flatter large thai pads are great for....... thai Laughing elbows that kind of thing but I find they wobble a bit when just punching so prefer to hit focus mits rather than pads.
