General Self Defence Discussion

Hi everyone,

My name is Jay Sensi and I am 19 years old Study Journalism. For my Journalism module I have chosen to write an article on self defence and the effects of self defence. If the article is good enough then it will be published, allowing the forum and everyone to express their views and concerns in a national paper, perhaps The Daily Mirror or anyting alike.

I wanted to ask everyone a general question

What made everyone first consider self defence? Was it perhaps a moment in your life where things were getting tough, where you personally felt it was the best time to consider looking up on it. Any personal stories that people don't mind expressing will be most appreciated. I'm looking for more of an angle of something occured in someones life that made them look towards learning self defence etc anyway thanks for your time and I hope to get some great comments and feedbacks.

P.S I am not aware whether a discussion like this has ever taken place and I do apologise if it is repetitive or if the admins think that this is unacceptable.

I'll pen a few words in a little while - but I also have some old interview material I did for magazines a while ago that I can send you if that's of use.

I've ben reliably informed that an interview for me is also going into Combat in a forthcoming edition, not sure which, so will let you know about that when I have more info.
