What Have I Missed?

Hi All - I meant to post this message a few weeks ago when we hit the half way mark through 2009 - but here goes anyway

Imagine for a moment I had just spent the first half of the year on the moon with no idea of what has been happening over the past 6 months

In brief one liners - who can give me a review of the important events that I have missed and that have shaped the world over the past 6 months?

G.Margaret Thatcher breaks arm in fall!
H.Gordon Brown caught dogging on Wandsworth common!
I.Geoff Thompson life story film finally gets released!
J.Alan Peasland turns 35!

Our troops finally withdraw from Iraq but some still in Afganistan.

Americans voted for change.

Apart from a new film and a celebraty birthday (see points I. and J.)

Oh and the American President - looks mostly bad news

Anything else Good been happening?

Most of what's listed has been in the media, most media like the big shocking negative stuff. You will find the best things in the small things... in the stuff that doesn't get on the tele.

Nick - you may have stumbled on the point of my post

isn't it funny how the majority of what people would remember has happened in the world is negative!!!

Hows having our troops home from Iraq finally a negative!? lol It's true though, publicity favours the negative aspects and sensationalising them.

I just mean, throw in some personal or local stuff. It's usualy small stuff that make a difference but never makes the news. What's important to you?
