Sorry mate - only kidding but seeing a gang of kids on BMX's causing havoc and then being chased off by more, just made me chuckle.

It's obviously a serious issue really but I just felt the need to throw in a little humour for badness

The serious answer is it's a tough question.
Some might say - why are the bad guys the only ones allowed to have firearms! (cheers for the quote Mick)

Others might say "we need to uderstand these individuals and gangs more"

Personally, I think we need to be somewhere in between both extreme views.

No easy answer though mate!

You've been watching too many cowboy films

I've thought for some time that knives (and okay let's extend that to guns) should be legal to carry but.. Their use to be severly punishable unless proven to have been used purely in self defence.

It just seems to me that the only people that the law prevents from carrying weapons are (suprisingly enough) law abiding people, it turns out thugs typically don't really care about the law.

So we end up in a situation where the knife weilding thug knows his mark is most likely unarmed, I'm sure at least some of them would think twice if there was more possibility that their mark could be carrying as well.

There is a saying when you carry a hammer every problem will start to look like a nail. That's one and the second is that it's very hard to access any weapon under an attack unless you are having it in your hand when the shit hits the fan.

Don't carry unless you are prepared to draw, don't draw unless you are prepared to kill. In the US a gun is allowed to be carried, however when you use a knife you will be looked upon as a criminal. To use a knife requires a special mindset.

Hey Guys,
Just back from the US and as usual I was amazed at the courtesy
Shown by almost everyone,whether its fake or not I like the respect
Shown to all members of society over there......a friend of mine once said"when we outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns"
I'm not advocating all members of british society to be armed,but I think a
Gang of feral chavs or drunken louts would think twice about kicking some poor sod to shit......if at least a couple of them had some lead introduced into their diets....something needs to be done re broken britain....what do you guys think would work?...appeasement,love and understanding doesn't seem to have!
