    Hiya All,

    I currently train 6 times a week a mixture of cycling, muay thai, weights or just on the bags at my gym. However i never seem to be able to gain muscle mass and after 4 years still resemble a really fast twig. I also have a gluten intolerance so cant eat anything with wheat...

    The main problem i find with eating is that i work 12 hour days and only get 20mins to quickly eat a lunch. Does anyone have any ideas on snacks or lunches which are really simple, gluten free and cheap?

    Oh and i drank my first raw egg today.....disgusting!! What a Face

    Working long hours does make it hard. I find eating things like tuna & cheese pittas, chicken wraps is a great way to get through the day before hitting the gym for a heavy weights session. I have gained about 2.5 stone over the last two and a half years diet is a key thing to any physical development plan you have.

    Have you tried any of the protein/weight gainer shakes? Give them a shot and see what happens.

    Protein bars is another good one as you can have one in your pocket or bag ready to go with no fuss or mess.
    12 hours work with a 20 minute break, that's horrendous!

    You can get some good liquid egg whites, (LEW's) off myprotein.co.uk, virtually odourless and tasteless, can make omelettes, scramble them etc and even drink raw as they are pasturised.

    Hi,

    If your are trying to gain good muscle mass then best way todo this is through a training programme called hypertrophy and eating the right amounts of protein, carbohydrates and fibres through your day. Sorry to say this but your hours of work and with the generous 20 minute break is not ideal for the diet or stress levels on your body, but you are on the right track with having raw eggs, but this will only give you around 6grams of protein per egg (organic)... and as smelly rear end!! haha.... put it this way a 13 stone man would need around 125grams of protein(not in one sitting)per day to get good gains.......

    In order to pass selection we all ate chips, chips , eggs, fish, pies and guiness. Seemed to do the trick. For energy drinks I recall us drinking lots of nato tea (that's tea with sugar in it!)

    I do hope this nutritional information is of value guys...It works for the SAS!!

    Well I never quite managed that yesterday.

    two cheese and onion pasties, and a pizza from gregs
    washed down with a small bottle of coke, a bag of crisps and and egg custard.

    went looking for pringles but obviously now there is a shortage cheers

    Do you drink milk ? You may want to consider this as a relatively cheap means of supplying extra amounts of calories and protein. Bodybuilders back in the 1960's and '70's who used to 'bulk up' used this method. The one time bodybuilder Tom Platz in his early days used to drink a gallon of milk a day !

    If your going to go for eggs as a cheap readily available protein source then cool, but microwave your egg whites for 10 secs odds before you eat them to kill any chance of salmonela.
    As an ex bodybuilder (please don't tell anyone) i have eaten fucking thousands of the things, but i have also known of guys that have done the same only to eat that one egg that had salmonela in it and have ended up seriously ill and watched all their gains dissappear down the pan...literally....
    No traning and a nice long recovery period to boot.
    Try a poroduct called 'egg nation' its cheap enough and comes in a dispensing pump with the egg white safe to eat. If i remember correctly each push of the pump so to speak give you the equivalent of one egg white.

    hey pal, for some one with a metabolism like yours it is very hard to put on decent healthy weight (not fat)
    the good news is that it is possible. bad news is that you need to eat correctly and eat reguarly, plus you need to train in a specific way to put on the type of weight your looking for but this would be a bit of a problem with the hours you work and break times you have.
    if you have a high CV output then you'll stay slim too.
    if you need a get bigger diet and training plan i'll happily put one together for you.
