The Contender - Muay Thai

WOW, I really expected seeing the standard of fighters like Ronnie Green and Pete Cunningham.

These guys were amazing to watch and would generate more interest in thai boxing if they were still fighting.

This series didn't last long did it? Now we have contender: kick boxing, which isn't much of an improvement on the muay thai one. Too much focus on daft challenges and socialising. Why don't they focus more on the types of training drills and give more advise on techniques etc and obviously more footage of action in the ring!? I for one am really disappointed with these series now.

I got so fed up with it, I looked up the website saw who had got through to the final....no surprise at all!

Then watched the final online.
Already they are looking to sign up fighters for season 2!!!

I was impressed with the Scots guy, Sean Wright when he fought as he stopped his first 2 opponents easily. But haven't seen the bout where he obviously looses.

JWP totally outclassed the swiss guy but was actually pretty good fight/show

Got to agree with you Mick.
One of the better fights, some nice combinations, counters etc from JWP.
Still giving it a miss tonight for CSI: Miami.
