Troy here
passed on information about this site from Dave of Integrated Combat Arts
my backround: i have been doing mostly fitness training since i was a nipper ... running, cycling, swimming...
started weightlifting when i was 19 and took that to it's logical end ... powerlifting ... got bored with that as the next level was taking steroids and i'm not one for faking it so it was time to move on
got my black belt with Joe Carslake in classical japanese ju jitsu ... a great club ... great technique ... applicable? 90% of it isn't ... or you would be too busy thinking about what technique to do while someone is doing a jig on your head ..... still it thought me one thing ... belts are for holding up trousers ... so time to move on
i now train with Dave (when i can) and in another club with a similar attitude were we do everything from boxing, maui thai, nin jitsu, firearms etc
i've come to learn that fighting is one thing but humility, respect and a good mental attitude mean so much more ... 'the greater the outward show, the greater the inward poverty'
so i'm here to see what people have to say, with an open mind
so hello to everyone
