Hi All
See below some good info for all of us!
First a few facts....
Of the cholesterol in our bodies, 80% of it is produced by our own bodies. Of the 20% from outside sources, all of it comes from animal products...there is no cholesterol in plant products at all. Our cholesterol levels are influenced by several factors including diet, exercise and stress levels. Cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease but oxidised cholesterol is. Using drugs to lower cholesterol levels is a LAST resort as drugs can have serious other (side) effects and it's not that hard to lower our levels naturally with a little commitment on our parts. So here's what to do.
AVOID THE FOLLOWING
coffee(especially decaf), heated fats of any kind, alcohol, refined sugar, cakes, candy, carbonated drinks, non-dairy creamers, margarines, refined carbs, tea, white bread and processed and refined foods in general.
EAT A LOW-FAT HIGH FIBER DIET OF MOSTLY FRUITS AND VEGETABLES....THE IDEAL DIET INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING CHOLESTEROL REDUCING FOODS
oats, oatbran(3/4 cup a day), walnuts, olive oil, flaxseed, apples, bananas, carrots, garlic, onions, grapefruit, barley, brown rice, spinach, potatoes, tomatoes, grapes and grape juice, avocadoes, almonds, dried beans, fresh juices (carrot, celery, beet), tofu, tempeh, yams, cultured foods (eg.yogurt), cold water fish (wild salmon)
All of these foods work to help lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and raise HDL (good) cholesterol. Some of them have soluble fibers that bind with cholesterol in the intestines and remove it from our bodies while some provide anti-oxidants to prevent oxidation of cholesterol.
CERTAIN SUPPLEMENTS ARE ALSO RECOMMENDED
The anti-oxidants Vit C and Vit E(400 iu)
Niacin 1500 ml. per day of the form INOSITOL HEXANICOTINATE (day 1 500 ml....day 2 1000ml.....and day 3 onwards 1500 ml)
A good multi-vit with extra calcium and 200 micrograms of Selenium daily
Ayurvedic herb GUGGUL with 10% gullulsterones 3x300 ml. per day
It's suggested to use these supplements with guidance from your health care professional.
Note:
Men who are emotionally repressive have the highest cholesterol levels
Aggression (which comes from a negative mindset) = high cholesterol
LOWER YOUR STRESS LEVELS and exercise daily....EXERCISE IS VERY IMPORTANT.
READ THOSE FOOD LISTS AGAIN AND AGAIN
Avoid the bad stuff...no exceptions ...don't cheat yourself and build a daily diet around the suggested foods.
PS. This stuff works. It might take a little longer than using drugs but all the side effects are actually good for you. HAVE FAITH!
