hello everyone from charley of boxer-rebellion bangkok

Post by charley on Wed Apr 29, 2009 10:29 pm

    hello all
my names "charley" and I am a brit who has always lived in asia.
I was first invited to asia in 1981 by the late great Donn F Draeger- a truly great man.
I love real genuine, earnest ,sincere martail artist ladies and gents.
I have trained in and investigated many systems ( mastered none)and am still learning each and every day.
I have lived in many asian citys.
I have travelled all over, tibet, nepal, philipines, looking for the " best" ,.To be honest some style do seem more realistic than others but I do not think anyone has the " best"
I was amused the other day when I reflected that one of the best systems I have chanced upon lately was not in the mystic east but in a place called solihull in birmingham under a real credit to martail arts-Mr Eddie Quinn.
His " Approach" is really great and I look forward to peoples veiwson this.
I have a full time gym in bangkok. It is a reality based gym and is free for all allied police/military, and all the real gents out there in UK who have contributed so much to everones benifit
best wishes, hope to see some of you in bangkok

    Hi Charley

Sorry I didn't get to meet you at Eddie's seminar. Seems like I missed something special.

Great to have you on the forum and thank you for the invite to your gym.

Good luck with everything and look forward to your posts.

    Hi charley

    welcome to the forum.

I am planning on spending a month in Phuket at the end of the UK summer. If my plans work out then I will join you at your gym.

I will be out there to train and don't want to be led astray

    hi
thanks , there are some very good places to train on phucket as I am sure you will know.Have you found some?
They have great deals on everything now( check out asiaroom- and other websites for budget travels)
I think I know what you mean about being led the astay!
I think everywhere there is a time for the training and a time for the slap and tickles.
Better not combine the two( I have tried and my training suffered !) therefore no point in me pointing out that my gym is a stones throw from the best slap/tickles establishments.
Errrr... so I heard from somebody Rolling Eyes
    look forward to seeing you
send emails to me please when you coming, my manager is
